Despite recently announcing a career hiatus due to health concerns, his track, "First Person Shooter," featuring J. Cole, has now climbed to the coveted top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, which ranks the 100 hottest tracks of the moment.
This accomplishment is monumental for the "One Dance" crooner, as he has now equaled the legendary Michael Jackson. This new chart-topping single marks Drake's 13th career No. 1, matching the American singer. Prior to his passing in 2009, Michael Jackson last achieved this position with "You Are Not Alone," released in 1995. It's undoubtedly great news for the rapper, who didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate on social media. He shared a photo montage featuring Michael Jackson taking a selfie in the mirror, donning an OVO sweatshirt, Drake's own clothing brand. He captioned the post with a simple "Mooooooooood" and made sure to acknowledge the contribution of J. Cole.
In total, seven of the Canadian artist's songs currently reside in the Billboard Hot 100's top 10: "IDGAF" with Yeat, "Virginia Beach," "Calling For You" with 21 Savage, "Slime You Out" with SZA, "Daylight," and last but not least, "Fear Of Heights," all stemming from his latest album, "For All The Dogs."
