In a recent interview with Complex, hip-hop artist Rick Ross expressed his ongoing animosity towards fellow rapper 50 Cent, bluntly stating that he believes "everything 50 does sucks." Ross went on to explain his perspective on 50 Cent's influence on the careers of other creatives and why he holds such a negative view of the G-Unit leader.
The conversation took an unapologetic turn when the interviewer referenced 50 Cent's 2005 film "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" in unflattering terms, which Ross wholeheartedly agreed with. He even suggested that the lukewarm reviews the film received played a part in director Jim Sheridan's career downturn, placing the blame squarely on 50 Cent's shoulders.
"Everything 50 does sucks,"
Ross responded, making his stance clear. He accused 50 Cent of creating the movie at the expense of director Jim Sheridan and seemed to take pleasure in disparaging the rapper's cinematic endeavor.
"R.I.P. Look what 50 Cent did to you," Ross remarked, referring to Jim Sheridan's career. "But at least he got a movie done about him. He took advantage of the system. But oh, my God, please! Who wants to see a movie about 50?!"
As the interview delved deeper, Ross was questioned about a recent Instagram post in which he played The Game's 2005 hit "Hate It Or Love It" and alluded to the rapper's references to 50 Cent's late mother's sexuality.
"I mentioned his mom," Ross acknowledged. "She was one of those. So I said it in front of the song, but the song was produced by Cool & Dre, my homies. So the song was a dope song. But I'ma sh*t on homie. He ain't getting no money. If he ever comes here, ask him, 'How does it feel, Rozay, getting all that money?'"
When asked if there was a possibility of reconciliation between Ross and 50 Cent, similar to the mending of fences between Meek Mill and Drake, the leader of MMG (Maybach Music Group) expressed doubt. Ross quipped, "We ain't got no jobs for him or nothing. I'm sure he does [need a job]."
The feud between Rick Ross and 50 Cent stands as one of the longest-running conflicts in the hip-hop industry. Over the years, both artists have released diss tracks aimed at each other, with Ross delivering "Mafia Music" in 2009 and 50 Cent firing back with "Officer Ricky (Go Head, Try Me)." The two have engaged in public spats through interviews, music, and even legal battles, making their rivalry a persistent presence in the world of hip-hop.
